california! jeg er skønt her ovre!

third stop: solvang

my good friend, tina, picked me up in santa barbara and we then spent the night in solvang, the kitschy danish town. it's like a cheaper, danish disneyland stuck in the 70's. by the way, their danish pastries are delicious and danish is fun to pronounce. dansk er sjov hen til indtale! klompen! i, for one, have been looking for a pair of painted wooden clogs for forever! vindmølle er fabelagtig! wine tasting is even more fun with a giant decorative windmill behind you.
konge og dronning! that's "gorm the old" on the left, the first in line of the danish monarchy. i hope "old" never becomes a part of my legacy. i'm sure he was shooting to be "gorm the grower of floor-length beard" or "gorm the warrior of osteoporosis."
